Marilyn Burt Mitchell, age 88, passed away peacefully on October 23, 2021, due to health issues incident to age. She was a beautiful Daughter of God, a loving wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, great grandmother, and a friend to many. She will be missed by all except those with whom she is now reunited in the Spirit World, not the least of which is the Savior, her husband (Lynn), daughter (Kathy), son (Terry), granddaughter (Paige), and many other family members. A long awaited, joyous reunion has finally taken place.
Marilyn loved being with her family as often as possible. They were unquestionably a priority to her as was her husband. She especially liked to go camping in the Uinta Mountains and attend extended family reunions in Zion National Park. She enjoyed supporting her children and grandchildren, whom she loved dearly, in all their individual interests and activities from sports to dance concerts, as well as school and church programs wherever and whenever she could. She had a God given gift to befriend anyone and found joy in the process of keeping such relationships alive. She developed countless numbers of friendships over her lifetime as a result of this gift, and found comfort in knowing that these relationships, along with her family, will extend into eternity.
She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and had a testimony of the truthfulness of the Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ found therein and the reality of the Savior’s Atonement and it’s eternal implications. This led to her serving diligently in numerous church callings, some of her most rewarding being a Primary Teacher and Relief Society President, and simply being a Christlike minister to the infirm and lonely. Attending the temple on a regular basis with her husband, Lynn, family, and others was of high importance to her as well.
A special heartfelt thanks to her “second family” at Sagewood Community at Daybreak. There are not enough words to convey her love and appreciation for all of you that became part of her life and made her feel at home the last six years after the passing of her husband.
Marilyn is survived by her sons Mike (Shelley), Larry (Angie), seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren . . . forever her pride and joy!
