Louise Baldwin Purdue "Grandma Lou" passed away on July 27, 2016 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She always greeted everyone with a warm smile and humor and purpose in her step when she walked. Grandma Lou was born on October 31, 1921 to John and Helen Baldwin. She married her high school sweetheart Paul Purdue on November 8, 1941. Together, they raised four girls that were their pride and joy. Grandma Lou's career was spent as a dental assistant working with Dr. Byron Burmester.
She loved the outdoors - spending time gardening, golfing, fishing, and traveling. Her greatest joy was her family. Christmas was one of her most favorite times of the year including the shopping!
Grandma Lou leaves a legacy of great memories and her genuine love for everyone she met. When anyone commented on her age, she replied "That's a lot of summers!"
Grandma Lou is survived by daughters Sharon Orton (Kent) Scottsdale, Arizona, Barbara Revene (William) and Janet Call (Clinton) both Salt Lake City, Utah; seven grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and one sister Norma Bennett (Glen) Centerville, Utah. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Paul, daughter Connie Astin, three brothers Elmer Baldwin, Floyd Baldwin, Byron Baldwin, and grandson Daniel Orton.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3401 S. Highland Dr, Salt Lake City, Utah 84106.
The family wants to extend their appreciation for all of the love and care from The Wentworth at Willow Creek Assisted Living Center, Salt Lake City, Utah. -
