Lorraine M. Griffiths 88, passed away July 7, 2014 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was born on December 18, 1925 in Salt Lake City, Utah to William H. and Mildred A. Matern. She graduated from West High school and married her high school sweetheart Richard A. Griffiths Jr. on July 10, 1945 in Key West, Florida during W.W.II. Lorraine is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She is a loving, dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, friend and example to all. She loved her family dearly. She was an extremely hard worker who never met a challenge that she could not master. She was always thinking of others before herself. She loved gardening, cooking and baking for her family, macramé, the outdoors, camping and most of all being with family. That contagious smile will be missed dearly. Lorraine is preceded in death by her husband (Richard), her sons (Don & Lynn) and her brothers (Richard and Ralph). Lorraine is survived by her son Dennis (Kay), her daughter Julie Carpenter (David), her sister Violet Coleman (Ernest), brothers Earl (Bernice) and Roger (Linda), 10 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. The family wishes to thank all of Lorraine’s wonderful loving caregivers, especially I-Care Hospice. Services will be held Saturday, July 12, 2014, at 10:00am at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 Highland Drive, Salt Lake City. The family will receive friends from 9:00am to 10:00am before the service Saturday. Entombment will be held following the service at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
