Ken and I never met...in person...but somehow we became coworkers online.  It is a crazy story. I started working with Oracle software when I was 19 in College.  About 10 years later, I "reconfigured" a version of Oracle to make it work when it was not supposed to and maybe talked about it online.

One day, Ken Jacobs, "Dr. DBA", sent me an email.  I thought it wasn't real at first.  How often do executives of a Fortune 500 company contact a customer out of the blue.   Ken wanted to know how I did it.  After that, for the next 10 years or so, when I had an Oracle customer with a problem or concern, I was able to email Ken and get help.   Ken worked with Oracle customers like it wasn't a global company, but like it was a small business. He always did the right thing for my customers and I have to brag a little here...when Ken sent an email from executive leadership, things always "happened".  I am so sad to learn of his passing.  When Ken was at Oracle, those were the best days of Oracle...it truly was not the same company after he left.  Condolences to his family who I am sure sacrificed for Ken's passion for the technology and his customers.

Ken, my cousin, was a lovely  man and we are sorry that we cannot look forward to seeing him again.  I and my siblings have many memories from childhood and visits through the years, too many to recount here.
