Jill Rasmussen Latimer 1963 ~ 2010 After a long and warrior like battle with breast cancer, our dear friend, sister, wife and mother passed on to reunite with her parents late in the evening of August 12, 2010. Born to Julian and Nina Rasmussen on Nov. 15, 1963 in Salt Lake City, this remarkable ember of energy and enthusiasm lived much more than her 46 years would indicate. The last of seven children, Jill was gregarious and accepting to everyone. Earning a dance and teaching scholarship she graduated with a BS in Physical Education and a teaching certificate from the University of Utah. Jill loved to dance and did so as a team member of the Pacific Northwest Ballet Company after college. Her affable way found her in the restaurant business where she spent a 20 year career with the Slaymaker Group (Wingers and TGI Fridays) ending as a training director. Our eternal gratitude to the Slaymaker folks for the amazing patience to the very end-it gave her strength to stay with us longer. Jill volunteered countless passionate hours over more than 25 years as a camp counselor to UTADA diabetes youth camps. Jill found and married the love of her life, Brandt Latimer, with whom she enjoyed her happiest years. Their eight year old son Jared is Jill's pride and joy and evidence that the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. We look forward to seeing more of Jill through Jared's progress in life. In addition to Brandt and Jared, Jill is survived by her six siblings who are: Julian (Maxine), Jane Harrington (Robert L.), Kathy McQueen (Jamie), Sterling (Cheryl), Eric (Robynn) and Rodney (Barbara). A Sunday evening viewing will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. at Wasatch Lawn (3401 Highland Drive). Monday's funeral at 12:00 noon will be preceded by a viewing from 10:45 to 11:45 a.m. at Wasatch Lawn.
