James Richard Symes, born February 9, 1927 in Garfield, Utah to David and Affie Symes; passed away peacefully September 28, 2013. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II; was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and a husband of 64 years to Donna F. Jensen. He loved the outdoors, working with his hands, building his own plane and sports cars; ballroom dancing in the kitchen, and working as a Scout Leader. He is survived by his wife and children; Donald (Dian), Debra (Richard) McGee, Stephanie (Terry) Smith, Stacy (Robert) Turner, proceeded in death by daughter Synthia (Jim) Jensen. He is a fun loving grandpa of 23 grand, 50 greats, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be Tuesday, October 1, 2013 at 11:00 am at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3401 Highland Drive, SLC, UT.
