My sympothies to the family in this time of sorrow.  Syn talked of her concern for her father and his health a great deal...it is comforting to know they are together again without pain.  Sincerest condolences!

Stacy, I would like to extend to you and your family my prayers at the passing of your father.  I don't remember him very well as it's been many many years since I last saw him. . .probably at your wedding.  We are so blessed to have the gospel in our lives and you know that you will see him again.  I hope all else is going well.

 I will greatly miss all the fun times we had while growing up as your grandchildren.  I have many fond memories of hiking the "Z" trail behind your house, riding horses in Moroni, family reunions at the cabin at Bear Lake, Thanksgiving dinners and always spending Christmas Eve at your house.  I will miss your ever entertaining stories of your younger years and what the world was like through your eyes.  I am grateful for the time I was able to spend with you after your stroke when I got to know you better and help care for you.  I am extremely thankful for your strong presence throughout my and my childrens' lives.  You have been fiercely loved in life and that love will continue to follow you through eternity.

I am glad my husband and I stopped by the VA to see you a few months ago.  I knew that would probably be the last time I would see you in this earthly existance.
I have many fond memories of you in my childhood.  I loved the Symes Christmas Parties, Thanksgiving and the visits on Christmas Day from your family.  I loved the closeness the Symes brothers had and the times I got to tag along on the hunting trips.  As time went by and families grew we saw less of each other but at every wedding or special occasion I knew I would see you and Aunt Donna.  Thanks for some really great memories and keep my Dad out of trouble.

I, too, remember the fun times at Christmas and Thanksgiving with Uncle Jim. He was always fun to be around. I am glad that he was friends with my dad and through him my mom & dad met. Donna and family - know you are in my heart and prayers at this bittersweet time.  I'm sure Jim is having a wonderful reunion with Grandma & Grandpa, mom, LaRee, and Merlin. My love to all of you.

I remember all the fun hunting trips we had as a family at the cabin at Bear Lake. Jim was always telling stories about him, Merlin, Gaylan & Dale growing up & lots of tales about hunting. He was a great guy, respected & loved by all.  Our prayers are  with the family.  We know he is at peace & with his family again & our Heavenly Father.

Grandpa thank you for your gruff and tuff love.  You have been a wonderful influence in my life and will miss you greatly!  You are with Mom now, please hug her from me and tell her I love her over the moon!  I love you and will miss you until we are together again!

I was so sorry to read of Jim's passing.   I have many fond memories of Memorial Days when Jim & Donna came to Moroni to visit with my grandparents (Lloyd & Effie).  My morher (Marietta) especially looked forward to those visits.  They were great times.  It is very comforting to know that one day we will all be together again. My prayers & thoughts are with you at this time.

Grandpa Symes was one of my greatest teachers and mentors. From a very young age he taught me to work hard and to have fun when the job was done. We did many great things together from hunting, fishing, scout camp, fixing cars, and working on projects around the house. I was blessed to live most of my growing up years under the same roof as my Grandpa and I had the chance to see him in a variety of different lights. I will never forget him playing with us as we tried to scare him or sitting in the back yard enjoying summer nights listening to birds sing. I will never forget riding in his cars, and listening to him talk about his stories from the war and his travels. He was a firm man that would melt whenever a baby was in the room. I will miss sneaking entire rows of fudge and caramels around Christmas time (sorry Grandma it was our secret). I hope that I will live the rest of my life in a way that will make him proud.

I will miss my Uncle Jim.  I always enjoyed Christmas time listening to my Uncle tell his stories.  He always told them with some much excitement.  I will miss our deer hunts at Bear Lake.  Thank you Uncle Jim for the time and efforts you put forh to keep our famiy close.  I appreciated tthe day we spent going down memory lane,going to Magna and visiting the Symes home and listening to the stories of that day.  Thank you for watching over my dad, walking him home from school so he would get into anymore fights than he did.  Glad for the time we shared at the VA rest home.  Glad to know that you are back home with your family on the other side.  I love you.
