Dorothy was born Dorothy King on May 16, 1921 in Antimony, Utah to Thomas Ervin and Mabel King. Her grandmother, Polly Ann King, the village midwife, delivered her.
Dorothy graduated from Murray High School, where she was a student body officer and valedictorian. While in high school, she represented ZCMI as Snow White in the Salt Lake City Christmas parade. After graduation she attended the University of Utah. In her first year she was named Homecoming Queen of the freshman class.
She later met her husband, Tom Pace, a U of U football star. They were married November 12, 1941. Like most of their generation, they were soon caught up by the storms of WWII.
Dorothy was a gifted pianist and organist (had perfect pitch)and she excelled in writing. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She felt serving others was important and did so throughout her life. Dorothy was a good friend and she maintained her college friendships through her ladies club, Agalia Mu. However, she was all about family. She and Tom had five children, 16 grandchildren, and 29 great grandchildren.
She is survived by sons, Robert (Eileen), Alan (Francie), and Bill (Lyn), and daughter, Barbara (Jeff). Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Tom and her son Scott, her siblings Clark, Grant, Dale, Norma, Harold, Shirley, and Audrey.
The family so appreciates the loving care Dorothy received at the Fairfield Village of Layton.
