Daniel was born in Murray, UT on September 10th, 1959 to Robert B. Jensen and Carol Ainscough. He was the fourth of their five children. Dan grew up in West Jordan where he attended grade school and worked on the family dairy farm, graduating from Bingham High School in 1977. He attended Utah State University for one year before serving an LDS Mission in the Dearborn, Michigan Mission from 1979-1980. Daniel married Linda Steiner in spring of 1981 in the Salt Lake Temple and were blessed with three loving children, Andrea Rebecca, Rachel Alene, and Zachary Ryan. Dan joined the Army in 1982 to fulfill his patriotic duty and longing to serve his country, moving his little family to Ft. Carson, CO. and eventually, Schwabach, West Germany. His military career ended in 1987, when he came back to help on the dairy farm, now in Heyburn, ID, after the death of his father. Dan and Linda later divorced in 1991. The next year Dan met Margarita Hernandez and they married in fall of 1992 in the Jordan River Temple, and were blessed with two more beautiful daughters, Valerie and Bethany.
Dan was an aviation enthusiast and would always name any aircraft as it flew by, also sharing many stories with his children of his military service. Whenever we would ask him what he wanted for his birthday or for Christmas, his answer was always; “obedient children”.
Dad enjoyed traveling around the country especially with his family and on many occasions had us listen to Rush Limbaugh and many other political commentators. He became a member of the tea party and often attended Heyburn City council meetings. After the sale of the dairy farm, Dan worked as a truck driver. Unfortunately, after a trucking accident, Dan’s mental health was greatly altered, leading to the end of his second marriage in 2014. He then spent the last six years of his life as a minimalist, keeping to himself, only venturing out when his kids came to visit him, for a quick meal, or to the local movie theater.
Daniel was preceded in death by his father, Robert B. Jensen, and his eldest daughter, Andrea Rebecca Jensen Hall.
