Corinne Stevens Lavin, 78, passed away at her home in Salt Lake City after an extended illness. She was born December 15, 1936 in Kanab, Utah to Joseph Merwin and Virginia Tait Stevens. She married Thomas R Lavin on November 14, 1959 in Salt Lake City. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. Together, they raised three daughters and one son.
Corinne’s greatest loves were her family and the temple. She served 13 years as an ordinance worker in the Salt Lake Temple. She loved the temple and the peacefulness she found within its walls. She was a member of Daughters of Utah Pioneers. Corinne was a selfless woman who always put the needs of others before her own. She was especially aware of those in need, particularly widows. She would always be the first to volunteer her time and talents for the benefit of others. An elegant and noble lady, she always took the high road, never wavering, always finishing the tasks she undertook. The Savior’s hands were hers as she blessed the lives of many. She rejoiced in having her family around her on any occasion and all felt her unconditional love. She had a passion for gardening and it added to the beauty of her home. She truly was the ultimate homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas, her four children, Lisa (Scott) Johnson, Tamra (Ruben) Birth, Eric (Jamee) Lavin and Leslie (Brett) Robinson, and her ten grandchildren, whom she adored. She was also survived by her siblings, Allen (Hermese) Stevens, Norma Bohm, Thad Stevens, and Denise Watson. She was preceded in death by her parents, Merwin and Virginia.
