Betty Harkness Sims

I was born July 6, 1927 to Ruth and James Harkness and raised in San Fernando, CA. I moved to Salt Lake City, UT in 1947 where I met and married on April 1, 1948 my only love Donald H. Sims. We were the proud parents of four loving children, Donnetta (Phil Davis), Dennise (Hewlett), Dianne (Don Dearth) and preceding me in death my son, Norman Sims. After raising my family, I graduated from the University of Utah with a bachelors’ degree in counseling people with vision and hearing disabilities and a second degree in Gerontology in 1981. Active in the First United Methodist Church and knowing the Lord as my personal Savior, my faith is strong. I ask God to bless and protect my family, whom I leave for awhile; my sister Hope, my three daughters, two son-in-law’s, seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. “Here I am Lord”, I look forward to seeing my beloved husband and son. A viewing will be held on Tuesday June 23rd from 9am to 10am with the service to follow at Evans and Early Mortuary, 574 East 100 South, SLC.
