William "Bill" Russell White

William “Bill” Russell White, 81, of Salisbury died Sunday, July 27, 2014 at his home with his family by his side. Born in Allen he was the son of the late Clarence Thomas White and Beatrice Cora Insley White.Bill was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, who was the rock of his family. A self-employed contractor, Bill loved working with his hands and built many beautiful homes. He enjoyed watching football, baseball, tennis, enjoyed playing poker and in his younger days enjoyed hunting. He was a member of Washington United Methodist Church.He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Joyce J. White; daughter, Linda Williams and her husband Henry; three granddaughters, Dawn Bishop and her husband Chris, Kimberly Wright-Post and her husband Brian, and Casey Cooper; seven great-grandchildren, Lauren, Garrett, Hailey, Logan, Emily, Danielle, and Bridget; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Brenda Lee White; a brother, and a sister.A funeral service will be held Saturday at 11AM at Bounds Funeral Home on East Main Street in Salisbury where friends may call one hour prior to the service. Rev. William Kniceley will officiate. Interment will follow in Allen Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
