Wesley Douglas Mohn passed away peacefully in his sleep on January 21, 2024 after a short illness. Doug was born in Salisbury, Maryland on June 9, 1942 to parents Wesley Douglas Mohn, Sr. and Lillian Sigmund Mohn. Doug grew up in Salisbury, Maryland where he attended local schools. Prince Street School, Wicomico Junior High and Wicomico Senior High where he played on the school’s football team (Indians). He graduated in 1960. Doug also attended STC (Salisbury University) but later left and moved to Washington D.C. where he worked at the Washington Post for three years as a copyboy. Doug had a passion for music (guitar) so after leaving the newspaper he and a few friends started a rock band, traveling up and down the East Coast playing in clubs, fairs, and casinos. After twelve years, he moved back to Washington, D.C. where he worked as a rodman. He did this until his retirement.
Doug is survived by sister, Linda Pastorfield; niece, Karen Craven (Morris), nephews, Wesley Pastorfield (Dottie)and Kyle Pastorfield; grand nieces, Kelsey Ruark (Darrell), Hannah Craven, Jolene and Noelle Pastorfield,; grand nephews Mason Craven (Kacie), Wesley Jude, Claudio Pastorfield; and great nieces, Kinlee, Bailee and great nephews, Oaklee Ruark and Remington “Remi” and Kason Craven.
