Susan Louise Whitlock Jones

Susan Louise Whitlock Jones transitioned to her heavenly home on September 13, 2022. With her husband William at her side, Susan passed peacefully in her sleep. Before going to sleep on the night of September 12, 2022, Susan sang and rejoiced with some of her family at bedside, praising God for his presence in her life.

Born Susan Louise Whitlock, in Sacramental, California on November 30, 1952 to Virginia and Leonard Whitlock USAF. Both proceeded her in death as well as her only sister.

As a devout Christian, Susan served in many capacities in her church. Sunday School Teacher and Youth Director we’re her passion for service over the years. Those she directed and taught we’re very special to her. Ministering to children and youth were a joy she. Spoke of often to those she encountered Upon her marriage to Bishop William Jones in 2010, she took on the role of a pastor's wife serving along side her husband in ministry.

Although Susan had no children of her own, she assisted in raising many children over her life through ministry. Upon marrying Pastor Bill, she inherited 3 Step-children, 7 grandchildren and 4 great-grands for whom she loved and prayed for daily as a MomMom.

A native of Roanoke, Susan graduated from High School then worked as a proof reader and office manager for two Roanoke local businesses before retiring.

Upon becoming ill and needing more assistance, Susan and Bill retired and moved to Salisbury, Maryland where her stepchildren could be of more assistance. It also allowed Susan and Bill to see the grandchildren and great-grandchildren more often.

Susan is survived by a brother, niece, nephew and many church related children who reside in Roanoke, VA.

A Memorial Service will be held at the Church of God of Prophecy, 1601 Wise Street SE in Roanoke, VA at 1:00 pm on October 8, 2022.
