Steven Alton Mills, 73, of Salisbury passed away, Thursday, May 4, 2023 at TidalHealth in Salisbury. Born July 2, 1949 in Hebron he was the son of the late Alton Floyd Mills and Lorraine Darby Mills Yates.
Steven worked as a plumber for PRMC for 35 years until he retired. He enjoyed fishing, motorcycle rides, gun collecting, and going to Sebastian, Florida for the winters to visit his brother where they would attend the Daytona Races. He was a United States Air force Veteran and was a lifetime member of the VFW Meuse Post 194 and American Legion Post 64 in Salisbury. A generous and kind man he was always willing to lend a helping hand.
He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Nancy Lee Mills; three sons; Stevie, Billy, and Scott Mills; three step children, Ricky Michael, Ernest Michael, and Andrea Michael; several grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother, Robbie Yates; sisters, Debbie Davis and Cheryl Yates Arron; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brother, Charles “Chuck” Yates and sister, Terri Elaine Mills.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, May 11, 2023 at 11am at Bounds Funeral Home on East Main Street in Salisbury. Pastor Robert Bounds will officiate. Interment with military honors will follow in Wicomico Memorial Park.
