Stephen John Spicer, 65, of Ocean City, MD passed away peacefully with his wife Donna by his side on, August 4, 2016, at Peninsula Regional Medical Center, after a long struggle with several illnesses. Stephen was born on March 23, 1951 in Washington, D.C. to Anita (Ruth) and James Spicer. Stephen was married to Donna (Tawney) Spicer in Rockville, MD on September 2, 1998. They were together since 1984. Stephen was an Air Traffic Controller at Andrews Air Force Base, NIH Purchasing Agent and Quadrangle Building Maintenance. Family was everything to Stephen. He will always be remembered for his sense of humor, laughter, kindness and compassion for others. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, playing cards, fishing, boating, and working with his hands building and renovating houses. He loved all animals, especially his dogs, Trooper and Ben. Stephen is predeceased by his father, older, and younger brothers. His father James Spicer, who had the gift of raising four great sons. He was his son’s best friend. His humor and laughter brought a bright spot to all our lives. He was the anchor of the family. Jimmy the oldest brother, close to being like his father worked hard, but was always there for his family. Mark, the younger brother, loved his family dearly and would do anything for them. In addition to his wife Donna, he is survived by his mother, Anita (Ruth) Spicer; brother, Michael Spicer; stepson, Michael Winters; sister-in-law, Margie Spicer, and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends. Memorial Mass will be held Friday, August 12 at 10:30 am at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 21370 St. Theresa Lane, Ashburn, VA 20147. A gathering for family and friends will follow.
