Raymond "Whitey" Farrell White

Whitey served in the United States Navy and was the owner of White’s Construction Company for many years until his retirement. In his retirement, he enjoyed BBQ and helped his son with Whitey’s BBQ. He was a member of Willards Lions Club, Willards Volunteer Fire Department and Salisbury Moose. He enjoyed fishing, flying airplanes, motorcycling, boating, target shooting, and traveling just to name a few of his many hobbies. He loved stock car racing and was a driver for many years.

He is survived by his wife, Grace D. White; three children, Robert L. White of Florida, Donna Pusey and her husband Gary of Allen, and Lynda Dashiell and her husband Donnie of Parsonsburg; and their mother, Frances White of Salisbury; stepchildren, Amy L. Cockey and her husband Chip of Pittsville and Donna L. LeCates and her husband Everett of Pittsville; grandchildren, Heather Cohen and her husband Jimmy of North Carolina, Lindsey Meadows and her husband Jake of Salisbury, Andrea O’Neil and her husband Marcus of Williamsburg, Kristen White (Lee) of Willards, Nicholas Guglielmi and his wife Meredith of North Carolina, Alyssa Berry of Allen, Ashley Dashiell of Parsonsburg, Taylor Coco and her husband Zac of Parsonsburg, Ben Dashiell (Logan) of Powellville, step grandchildren, Eddie Frantum and his wife Brittnee of Pittsville, Derrek Frantum of Pittsville, Brady Cheesman of Pittsville, Devin Frantum of Pittsville; many great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren; sister, Shirley Records, and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his loving dog, Jax. He was preceded in death by a son, Richard F. White; brothers, Earl White and Jimmy Tingle, and sisters, Lula Mae Davis and Elizabeth Halterman.

A Celebration of Whitey’s Life will be held Saturday, May 21, 2022 at Pittsville Fire Company.
