R. Douglas Bradford, 66, of Pittsville, died Thursday, December 11, 2014 at Coastal Hospice at the Lake. Born in Salisbury he was the son of the late Raymond L. Bradford and Pauline Powell Bradford. A 1966 graduate of Pittsville High School he served in the United States Army as a Military Policeman stationed in Korea from 1968- 1970. He worked as a Feed Mill Manager at Perdue for 22 years, Mountaire for 12, and retired from Allen’s in 2010. He was a very active member of the Powellville VFW Post 2996 and member of many other local posts. A loving father and grandfather he enjoyed fishing, boating, golf, baseball, football, and NASCAR. He is survived by son, Mark Douglas Bradford and his fiancée Laura Dausch of Pittsville; daughter, Melissa Bradford King and her husband Ryan of Swedesboro, NJ; companion, Bonnie Webster, her son, Shane Webster and his wife Shannon; grandchildren, Bella Bradford, and Logan, Wyatt, Dalton Webster; and extended family, Brian and Rita Dayton and their children, Allison and Mikayla. A funeral service will be held Monday at 11AM at Bounds Funeral Home on East Main Street in Salisbury. Rev. Paul Sherwood will officiate. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery in Libertytown. Friends may call Sunday evening 6PM – 8PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in memory of Doug to Powellville VFW, 35481 Mount Hermon Road, Pittsville, MD 21850.
