Norman “Butch” Woodrow Shores, Jr. 77, of Salisbury went to his Heavenly Home on Thursday, November 2, 2023. Born June 13, 1946 in Salisbury he was the son of the late Norman Woodrow Shores, Sr. and Magdalene Shores.
Butch served three terms in the United States Army and fought in Vietnam. First and foremost, he was a loving family man; he enjoyed taking car rides and sharing stories. He loved historic cars, watching westerns, and listening to Ronnie Milsap and the Bee Gee’s. Butch would collect everything and anything.
He is survived by two sons, David Thomas Shores (Wendy) and Steven Michael Shores (Bonnie); eight grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren and one on the way; siblings, Shirley Harrison (Gary), Kenny Shores, Freddie Shores, and Gail Lewis (Lou), and several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and a devoted companion, Wanda Collins. He was preceded in death by his companion of 30 years, Ruth Briddell and a brother, Roy Shores.
A Home Coming Service will be held Thursday, November 9, 2023 at 11am at Bounds Funeral Home on east Main Street in Salisbury where friends may visit one hour prior to the service. His brother-in-law Gary Harrison, Sr. will officiate. Interment with military honors will follow in the Maryland Veterans Cemetery Eastern Shore in Hurlock.
