Lillian Shirley Taylor, 71, of Salisbury passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, October 17, 2023 at TidalHealth in Salisbury from complications from a heart attack. Born December 25, 1951 in Salisbury she was the daughter of the late Docky “Doc” and Anna Thompson.
She was employed at Fruitland Primary School as a food service worker. A loving wife, mother, and grandmother, Lillian was a people person, enjoyed visiting family and friends, and was proud to be a breast cancer survivor. She always wanted to give everything she had to her family and loved ones.
She is survived by her son, Robert Irvin Taylor, Jr. (Casie Whetzel); daughter, Sherry Slate (Wayne); Scott Holt (Melanie) who was like her son; grandchildren, Jordan, Harley, Liam, Savannah, Wayne, Jr., Danielle, Emily, Madison, and Hannah; great-grandchild, Kingston; sister, Marie Layton Mitchell (Stan); several nieces, nephews, and close friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Irvin “Poncho” Taylor, Sr. in November 2022 and a brother-in-law, Bobby Layton.
A funeral service will be held Monday, October 23, 2023 at 2pm at Bounds Funeral Home on East Main Street in Salisbury where friends may visit one hour prior to the service. Pastor Dana Stauffer will officiate. Interment will follow in Springhill Memory Gardens.
