John Claude Brewer, Jr., 78, of Salisbury passed away Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at Wicomico Nursing Home. Born October 27, 1946, in Cambridge, he was the son of the late John Claude Brewer, Sr. and Victoria Majors Brewer.
John was a talented musician who played in bands such as VIP’s and Mendacity. He joined Mardela Fire Company and was a piano tuner for over 20 years. Giving his life to the Lord and writing several gospel songs will be part of his legacy. He was a member of Athol Baptist Church and Calvary Baptist Tabernacle. He enjoyed singing and playing music for anyone who would lend an ear. His favorite pass time of late had been going to MAC Center and socializing with all the kind people there. He also enjoyed spending time with his grand kids.
He is survived by his three daughters, Jennifer Martin (Don); Hannah Scott (Ron), Rachel Smith (Jordan); Grandchildren, Sam Martin, Wills Martin, Austin Scott, Alex Scott, Jackson Smith, Parker Smith, and Avery Jade Smith; two brothers, Rev. Bill Bradley and Rev. Lou Bradley; and several beloved nieces and nephews. His caregiver for the last few years, Jessica Cook has become part of the family and was definitely his guardian angel. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by Rebecca “Aunt Beck” Parsons, who raised him like her own as she did several of us as well, and Miss Marty Hall who held his heart in the palm of her hand.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, March 15, 2025, at 11 am at Bounds Funeral Home on East Main Street in Salisbury where friends may visit one hour prior to the service. Pastor Brandon Morris will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of John to the Alzheimer’s Foundation, 225 N Michigan Ave, Floor 17, Chicago IL 60601 or via website www.alz.org.
