James “Jim” Edgar Gray III, 56, of Pittsville passed away Friday, March 10, 2023 at TidalHealth in Salisbury due to complications from Renal Failure. Born December 18, 1966 in Dover, DE he was the son of the late James Edgar Gray, Jr. and Paula L. Fairbank.
Jim was the son of restaurateurs in Ocean City and Dover. He graduated from Caesar Rodney High School in June of 1985 and worked at Kirby and Holloway Family Restaurant in Dover and Mr. Donut in Ocean City. Eventually he found his true calling doing tree work and ran his own tree service business JEG3 Inc. since 2001. In his younger years, he enjoyed going to the beach, fishing, and spending time with his family. More recently, he enjoyed spending time with his grandsons and family and playing video games with the grandkids.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Lisa Sharp Gray; two sons, Joseph Gray and Jonathan Gray; grandsons, Braxton Gray and Ryker James Gray; step mother, Kathleen Gray; brothers, Brian Gray, Philip Gray, Paul Freed, and Daniel Gray; sisters, Beth Fleming, Katie Cooke, Annie Smaldone, and Laura Morris; uncle, Robert Gray and all their respective spouses and families. He was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Freed.
A Celebration of Jim’s Life will be held Monday, August 21, 2023 at 1pm at Bounds Funeral Home on East Main Street in Salisbury.
