Grace worked many jobs but enjoyed and retired from Wicomico Nursing Home in 1993 as a CNA. She was an active member of the United Pentecostal Church and loved the Lord. She enjoyed reading, cooking, and being with her family the most.
She is survived by two daughters, Brenda Messick (Garland) of Millsboro) and Wanda Hurley (Bob) of Salisbury; step children, Raymond Nichols, Jr. (Grace), Jeannie Forbes (Dave), and Kenny Nichols (Paula); six grandchildren, Robbie Hurley, Jr., David Powell, Paige Hurley (Alynn), Shannon Hurley- Wilson (Josh), Staci Powell, and Josh Nichols; seven great-grandchildren who always referred to her as Mom Mom Teeth, Cade Hurley, Ciera Hurley, Layla Powell, Chase Hurley, Landen Wilson, Kaitlyn Grace Hurley, and Logan Wilson; special nephews, Ron Caldwell and his wife Patty and Walter “Bud” Hudson; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Nichols; a son, Stephen H. Truitt; step daughter, Kathy Gaskill; brother, Robert Tarr; sisters, Mary Hudson, Victoria Caldwell, Marion Caldwell, and Frances Donahoe.
A graveside service will be held Thursday at 10am at Springhill Memory Gardens in Hebron. Rev. Jay Hurley will officiate. Arrangements are in the care of Bounds Funeral Home.
