Gail A. Moore, 72, of Pittsville passed away Saturday, March 8, 2025, at TidalHealth in Salisbury. Born March 5, 1953, in Powellville she was the daughter of the late Charles Handy Wilkins and Ruth Elizabeth Davis Wilkins.
With the biggest heart and a smile on her face, Gail was a ray of sunshine and the sweetest person. She never met a stranger and touched many people’s hearts. She was a loving daycare mother for over 37 years. She enjoyed dancing, going to the beach and eating crabs. She worked alongside her best friend and business partner, her husband Denver for many years.
A loving mother, and grandmother, Gail is survived by her three children, Carla M. Moore and her husband Cody; Erika G. Moore – Lecates and her husband James; Derrick C. Moore and his wife Jen. Leaving behind three granddaughters, Alexis M. Mason, Abigail J. Lecates, and Makayla J. Moore. She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Denver Calvin Moore, Jr. in 2016 and a brother, Charles Vance Wilkins.
A funeral service will be held Sunday, March 16, 2025, at 1pm at Bounds Funeral Home on East Main Street in Salisbury where friends may visit from 11am- 1pm. Rev. Paul Sherwood will officiate. Interment will follow in Pittsville Cemetery.
Following the interment the family would like to invite everyone to Ayres United Methodist Church for a further time of fellowship with them. They would also ask that everyone please bring a covered dish.
