Dorothy Jean (House) Laws, 92, of Salisbury died, Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center. Born February 13, 1922 in Middleport, NY, she was the daughter of the late Raymond M. House and Mildred S. House. Her beloved husband of 56 years, Jackson F. Laws, passed away in 2007. Her sister, Marjorie W. Solloway, died in 2000. She is survived by three sons, Jackson W. Laws (Bill), Raymond D. Weiss, both of Salisbury, and Robert P. Weiss (Bob) and his wife Bonnie of Marietta, GA. She is also survived by grandson, Clifton Krieg and his wife Christina and their sons, Lucas and Noah. Also surviving, Dona Jean Niblett (DJ), niece, and her husband Billy of Chincoteague, VA, and two nephews, Douglas Cameron and his wife Gerry of Ocean City and great niece Lindsay, Donald Cameron of Honduras, and three great nephews, Donald Grauel, Ian Grauel, and Duncan Cameron. Jean was educated in Lockport and Middleport, NY public schools and furthered her education with courses in higher education. After World War II she worked at Syracuse Airport where she obtained her Private Pilot’s license. In 1952 she married the love of her life, Jackson F. Laws (Jack) of Salisbury. She was the Executive Director of United Way of Wicomico County until 1972. After that she was the Executive Director of the Frederick County United Way, retiring in 1982 and returning to Salisbury with her husband Jack. Jeans greatest joy was playing bridge and reading and being with her many friends. A funeral service will be held Saturday at 1PM at Bounds Funeral Home on East Main Street in Salisbury where friends may call one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Parsons Cemetery. In lieu of flowers she requested memorials be made to Coastal Hospice, P.O. Box 1733, Salisbury, MD 21802 or United Way, 803 North Salisbury Boulevard, Suite 2100, Salisbury, MD 21801.
