Donald “Dean” Lee Hastings, 72, of Salisbury passed away peacefully Friday, August 9, 2024 at his home. Born June 24, 1952 he was the son of Pauline West Farlow and the late Leroy Hastings. Donald retired from James E. Lewis Used Cars in Willards in 1999 after a back injury. During his retirement, he never turned down a “little” job to help friends and neighbors. He worked up until the day he passed, after his wife saying “better stay home it’s too hot.”
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Patsy; his daughter, Amy Trotter (LeMar); and favorite of all his grandson, Braxton Dean. He is also survived by his mother, Pauline Farlow of Pittsville; brothers, Ronald Hastings (Carolyn) and David Hastings (Kim), sister, Sharon Lewis (Eddie); several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends stretching from Maryland to Florida; and his granddog, CaraMia.
A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday at 11am at Bounds Funeral Home on East Main Street in Salisbury.
