

Delorce Arlene Motkowski of Salisbury, Md was called to heaven early the morning of January 26, 2021 on her 59th wedding anniversary. She was the eldest daughter of 9 children born to James and Wilda Hise of Mill Creek WVA. After a rough start in life she grew up to be a strong, independent, spirited little lady who loved to laugh and dance.
She is predeceased by her husband, her parents, five brothers: Ken, Bill, John, Jim, Jerry and one sister: Eloise Taylor.
Leaving her hometown at the age of 17 she’s landed at Fort Eustis and embarked on a career with the Federal Government including office of the Surgeon General, Walter Reed Army Medical Center in treasury where she met and married her husband, Bernard Motkowski. After her daughter was born she traded stomping around the Pentagon for teaching in elementary school.
She loved being home and creating a beautiful life for her family. She was devoted to all her family members and was always there for anyone who needed her. Her many creative talents included everything from cooking, home improvements to sewing and floral designing. She knew no limits and excelled at everything she did. She had a very active lifestyle. Her early interests included painting, yard work, craft projects, reading, church and ANYTHING her daughter was involved in.
Later her interests shifted to watching Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy; herding her kitties and babysitting her grand doggies.
She is survived by her sister Rella Sue Voelker, brother in law Dr. Richard Voelker; her brother Joe Hise, sister in law Mary Hise; Her daughter Terza Guyer, son in law Pat Guyer; numerous nieces and nephews; numerous kitties and grand doggies.
Her Faith in Jesus Christ guided her throughout her life. Although her sight was taken, she loved singing hymns and in the last years of her life she attended church by listening to Charles Stanley’s sermons.
There will be a graveside ceremony in Mill Creek WVA Thursday Feb 4, 2021 at 2pm.
