Christine C. Fields, 83, of Woodstock, MD and formerly of Salisbury, MD, passed away peacefully on November 30, 2024. She was born in Salisbury, MD on May 17, 1941, the daughter of the late Richard Carter, Sr. and Phyllis Williams Carter.
Christie graduated from Wicomico Senior High School in 1959. She first worked as an executive secretary at Hess Apparel, then became a medical transcriptionist with an orthopedic group in Salisbury. She later co-owned the Ocean City Bake Shop with her husband, Charles Fields, decorating custom cakes for special occasions. In the 1980s, she enjoyed working as a sales representative for two companies.
She loved gardening, playing the piano, crafting, watercolor painting, camping and traveling with Charles, and most of all, spending time with her family.
She is survived by her son, Richie Fields (Mettë), her son Tim Fields (Karen), her son Darren Fields (Becky), fifteen grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, her nephew and niece, and several close cousins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-three years, David “Charles” Fields, who passed away in February 2023, and her brother, Nick Carter, who passed away in May 2023.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, December 7th from 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM at Bounds Funeral Home, 705 E. Main St., Salisbury, MD. A graveside service will follow at 12:30 PM at Parsons Cemetery, 912 N. Division St., Salisbury, MD.
