Cheryl Taylor Graham, 68, of Salisbury, passed away after a brief and unexpected illness on Tuesday, July 18, 2017 with her family by her side. Born April 14, 1949 in Salisbury, she was the daughter of the late Lester Charles Taylor and Antoinette Belle Applebaugh Taylor. She is survived by one daughter, Kimberley Annette Groves and husband, Steven Christopher Groves of West Melbourne, FL; One beloved granddaughter, Emily Belle, whom was the light of her life; One sister Patricia Ann Gillich; and her faithful four legged companions, Tia Faith, and Kizzy. In addition, she is also survived by her ex-husband, Samuel Carl Graham and wife, Swazanna also of Salisbury and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by one sister, Mary Lee Harris. Cheryl graduated from James M. Bennett High School in 1964 and later attended college and professional development education in her role as a telecommunications supervisor. After a successful career with Verizon, she continued her dedicated service to her community by working for the State of Maryland in various administrative roles. She’s known and remembered for her amazing singing voice, performing multiple times in public and is known for her stirring rendition of “O Holy Night” at Christmas time. She was well loved by her family and those who knew her well. She was a strong and dedicated woman, who never hesitated to help those in need and who adored her family immensely. A remembrance gathering to celebrate Cheryl’s life will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at Bounds Funeral Home, 705 East Main Street, Salisbury, MD 21804. Family and friends are encouraged to share their thoughts and memories of Cheryl. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to a charity of ones choice in Cheryl’s name.
