Cecelia Ann Bobo (nee Moomau) of Salisbury, MD escaped her earthly bonds on May 20, 2023, at the age of 86. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Melvin Leland Bobo and cherished grandson Andrew Christopher Wootten, as well as her parents Evelyn Harrison Moomau and William Dyce Moomau.
Cecelia was born in 1936 in Keyser, WV and grew up across the street from her life-long love "Bunk" who would eventually become her husband. A graduate of Bruce High School, she went on to receive her Registered Nurse (RN) degree from Church Home Hospital Nursing School (now part of Johns Hopkins Medical School) in 1958.
Throughout her life, Cecelia was a loving daughter, mother, grandmother, and friend who was devoted to her family and those she loved. Her passions included collecting antique dolls and toys as well as spending time with her many precious cats. She lived her training as a nurse for over forty years at the Salisbury Nursing Home & Rehabilitation Hospital, and cared for many others by opening her home to family and friends on a regular basis. Of all her accomplishments, she felt her greatest role was as a mom, whether to her own children or grandchildren, or to the wonderful extended friend group who considered her Ma Bo.
Cecelia was a lifelong member of Soroptimist, The Elks Lodge Ladies Auxiliary, and The Moose Lodge in Salisbury, MD. She was also a member of the United Federation of Doll Clubs, Betsy Patterson Doll Club, and the Evelyn Moomau Delmarva Doll Club.
Treasured family left behind include her daughter Cecelia "Ann" Wootten (Oliver) of Salisbury, MD; son Melvin Leland "Lee" Bobo II (Elaine) of Richmond, VA; grandson William "Bill" Geoffrey Wootten (Lorian) of Salisbury, MD; and granddaughter Caroline "Reese" Bobo of Washington, DC. A celebration of her life will be scheduled in the near future.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Coastal Hospice, PO Box 1733, Salisbury, MD 21802.
