Boyd Zosimo Gaba, M.D., P.A. of Salisbury, Maryland passed away at the age of eighty-two on March 5, following a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. Dr. Gaba was born in Manila in the Philippine Islands and was a graduate of the University of the East. He completed his medical training at Johns Hopkins and Franklin Square Hospitals in obstetrics and gynecology. He met his wife of 51 years, Rhonda Donaldson Gaba while completing his residency at Johns Hopkins. They soon moved to Cumberland, Maryland where he practiced medicine for thirty years. Boyd became a proud father of three wonderful children and later in life enjoyed his role as a grandfather. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved to hunt and fish when his schedule allowed. Following retirement, Boyd and Rhonda relocated to Maine to be closer to family and eventually to suburban Maryland. In 2023, Boyd and Rhonda returned to the Eastern Shore of Maryland where they had enjoyed so many family vacations. Boyd leaves a legacy of generosity and love to his patients, medical colleagues, and his family.
In addition to his wife, Dr. Gaba is survived by his children Brett Gaba (Hannah) of Seattle, Heather Happe of Frederick, Maryland, and Sarah Gaba(Justin) of Maine, grandchildren Isaac Happe and Hazel and Jonah Gaba, his beloved sisters, Alice Bauer, Bella Hermoso, Gigi Gaba, and brother Hector Gaba and his many extended family members in the U.S. and abroad including his Sister in law, Brenda Donaldson. Dr. Gaba was predeceased by his mother and father, Susana Tadeo Gaba and Diosdado Poblete Gaba, and his brother Vergel Tadeo Gaba. An open house style celebration of Dr. Gaba’s life will be held on April 6, 2025 at the family’s home on 106 White Street in Salisbury, MD beginning at 1:00 p.m. There will be an additional celebration of life in Cumberland, MD at a date to be determined.
