Barbara Eleanor Kropa Volkomer

Barbara was born August 10, 1931 to John Kropa and Catherine Cieciorkowski Kropa in Jamaica Queens, NY. She had one older brother, John Kropa.

Barbara married Robert F. Volkomer April 7, 1951 in San Francisco, California. They were married for 64 years until his passing in 2015.

She resided in Levittown, NY until 1974, when she moved to Ocala, Fl, where she resided for over forty years.

Barbara was a secretary for the Florida Highway Patrol and retired from the State of Florida. Barbara attended St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Levittown, NY and The Lord's Chapel in Ocala, Fl.

An avid genealogist, Barbara connected with cousins around the country and overseas.

Barbara was devoted to her children: Robert (Gina) Volkomer, Susan (Kevin) Peterson, Lorraine (Jim) Robison, Maryann Kelly and James (Kelli) Volkomer.

Grandchildren: Heather Volkomer (Stacey), Chris Volkomer, Johanna Thomas (Earl), Jason Peterson, Steven Robison (Kayla), Alex Robison and Amanda Young (Shane).

Great-Grandchildren: Jadon Volkomer, Ellie Hogan (Kobe) and Hayley Young.

She was eagerly awaiting the arrival of her first Great-Great-Grandchild, Blakely Hogan.

Barbara is also survived by two beloved daughters-in-law, Norma Ruth Volkomer and Michelle Neal as well as four nieces and two nephews.

A private celebration of life is planned for May, 2024. Interment will be at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Millsboro, DE.
