Barbara Ann Maugel, 85, of Harrington, DE passed away Saturday, June 4, 2022 at her home in Salisbury, MD. Barbara was born in Speke, England a small town outside of Liverpool. She met and married her husband Harvey in 1958. They had their first child Sharonlee Isdell in Arrington, England. One year later they moved to the United States. Their second child Linda Catherine Monroe was born at Dover Air Force Base. For many years, the family traveled all over the United States through the Air Force. After tours in Europe, they finally settled in Harrington, DE where she became very active in her church, St. Stephens Episcopal Church. While at the church, she served as a Lay Minister, Church Secretary, and was very active in many aspects of the church. Barbara and Bill spent many anniversaries in December in the Bahamas. She loved to do crosswords in ink; she knitted sweaters for her daughters every Christmas, and started a Christmas tradition of a tiny present at the top of the tree for Sharon and Linda to open on Christmas Day night just before going to bed. One year there were three boxes, the third box was for her husband Bill, train money.She is survived by her daughters, Sharonlee Isdell and Linda Catherine Monroe and her husband Michael; grandchildren, Hannah Monroe, Steven Bonovich and his wife Jamie, and Crystal Rundel and her husband, James; great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Madison, Karen, Emily, and Erik; brother, Tony Boxall; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Harvey W. “Bill” Maugel, Jr.; sister, Christine Reed. A graveside funeral service will be held Monday, June 13, 2022 at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro, DE 19966. A visitation will be held Monday from 11am - 12pm at Bounds Funeral Home on East Main Street in Salisbury.
