Albert Martin Correia passed away on Dec. 22, 2021 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center. He was born on Nov. 30, 1939 in the Bronx, New York to the late Frank Martin and Mary Elizabeth Kulp Correia. The family later moved to Princess Anne, MD.
Albert was a 1959 graduate of Washington High School. He later graduated from Maryland Institute of Art in Baltimore, MD in 1963 with a BA in Fine Arts.
He worked for Eastern Foods and White & Leonard's before starting his career job with Maryland State Highway Administration in May of 1965. He retired in May, 2004 with 39 years of service and was also a member of the Maryland Classified Employees Assoc. for 50 years.
Albert loved bass fishing, and went whenever he could. He then became one of the founding members of the Wicomico Bass Club. He was very active in getting the necessary paperwork managed for the needed boat ramp to be built on Johnson's Lake.
Albert served 6 years with the US Army Reserves, 680th Transportation Unit, then stationed in Chincoteague, VA. He loved to travel with his wife, cruising to the many islands in the Caribbean, Alaska, and Panama Canal. His favorite place to visit was Jamaica, having traveled there many times.
In addition to his parents, Albert is preceded in death by a half-sister Frances Correia. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Barbara Anne Brosey Correia; son David A Correia; two daughters, Dana C. Lednum (Buddy) and Angela C. Savage. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Sydney A. Lednum, Logan T. and Jacob T. Savage.
