My heart goes out to the family and all those who grieve the loss of Tom. Tom was, for me, first as the older brother of a best friend. Over time I saw him as my own friend and then at last true family. He was quiet at times with bursts of hilarity but beyond that he had integrity and people trusted him. My favorite thoughts from the past few days while quietly remembering him are of when friends would seek him out and just pour out their troubles to him. He was an advisor in those moments and a quiet counselor to them. When others would walk away he would stay there listening for as long as was necessary. I have at least two memories of him leaning back on his Blueberry at night doing just that and others as well. Tom cared deeply for those he let in and I am heartbroken he is gone. Here is to Tom.

Thomas sent me this photo - He loved this place! I enjoyed working with Thomas and being his friend. I will miss his text on the Holidays or random connections “Hey Buddy what are doing”  I was looking forward to our next Beer together! Safe Travels Thomas!

To the family, my condolences I will not make the services due to travel - I am hiking in the White Mountains - Thomas would appreciate that!

Thomas sent me this photo - he loved it there! I enjoyed our friendship and work together. We had a lot of fun traveling around the State, and going to Duck and Blazer Games! I was looking forward to having a Beer with him! He’d always send me a text on holidays or checking in - Hey Buddy what are you doing! I will miss him! Grateful he was a part of my life!

My regrets I will not make the service due to travel in New England

Our heartfelt condolences to Thomas’s family. We met Thomas at Scappoose marina where he was always friendly, kind and kept a watchful eye on others boats. Later,  we were boat neighbors in a marina in Puerto Vallarta where we got to know and share his enthusiasm for sailing. We are thankful for the time we shared in exploring the area, good conversations, and ideas handling boat maintenance and repairs. Your laugh and sense of humor will be greatly missed. 

Thomas, my other son, I’ll miss you.  Thanks for the laughs over dinner or a glass of vino.  Thanks for the memories of holiday dinners, or for short day trips you were unwittingly committed to.  Your infectious smile, your sense of humor,  your kindness, consideration and compassion  for others  made it easy to love you.  Smooth sailing dear boy. 

Our sincere condolences to Tom’s family.  We knew Tom for many years as I managed the marina in Scappoose where Tom lived onboard his boat. He was quiet, friendly and helpful.  Always willing to pitch in and lend a hand. He worked tirelessly upgrading and improving his boat.  He was friends with all the folks that lived at the marina.  We had several tough winters with days of ice and snow. Tom willingly jumped in to help, shoveling snow and ice day and night without hesitation.  We are so sorry for your loss.  He was a good man and much too young. Will miss him too.

My friend, I'm at a loss as to what to say, I'll miss our conversations about the world, political and otherwise, even though we were coming from different views and beliefs, we could always have an open conversation and speak our minds with mutual respect, truly wanting to understand and see the others point of view. I thank you and miss you.

I have had the privilege of knowing Thomas for many years, and have always been grateful for his friendship, support, and unwavering sense of adventure. While our paths didn't cross as often of late, I will always cherish the memories I have of him. He was a great friend and confidant to many.

I primarily new Tom from hanging out at a local restaurant here in the marina area. He was always so much fun to talk to and a really nice guy. I am truly saddened by this sudden loss and wish to extend my deepest condolences to his family and loved ones.

I only knew Thomas through my friend Teresa and we all did a trip to Spain in 2019. Super fun vacation and very memorable! My condolences to his family. 

Tom,  my dear friend,  I miss your great smile and enthusiasm for sailing and our discussions in solving the problems of the world.   What a great time you,  Ryan and I had in Fiji,  I wish we could have made it to American Samoa, but we have great memories of the trip with you.   I miss you my friend.

I only knew Thomas for a short amount of time unfortunately.  I thought he was such a sweet guy and I enjoyed hearing all about his traveling adventures.   He will definitely be missed :(



We were just so saddened to hear of Thomas' passing. We were marina neighbors and we enjoyed many good chats over the last few years. He will certainly be missed in our community. Our sympathies to his loved ones.
