7/2/1996 – 9/23/2024
Shaye was born 7/2/1996, the second of 3 children. During her younger years, Shaye loved playing with friends and adventuring around town. Her favorite part of summer was the weeks at Camp Collins with her younger brother, Casey. She enjoyed camp so much, she eventually became a camp counselor, spending the entire summer with the young campers and touching each of their lives.
Her passion of adventuring was fueled by family trips to Disneyland, Disney World, Vegas, Cabo San Lucas, and countless camping trips. Shaye’s favorite camping excursions were those including riding her quad with the rest of the family. Even as an adult, after her workday, she would adventure to Astoria, Detroit Lake, or whichever park she could find on maps, as a detour on her drive back to the farm.
Shaye was an artist and loved sharing her art. Friendship bracelets were her favorite. She often helped her grandmother with family meals and her artistic talent shined through in simple relish plates and designer napkins. She loved making waffles for everyone and making sure everyone had what they needed before she joined the table.
She loved music and would play it too loud, proudly! Shaye had her grandma Robertson’s talent for music. Whatever instrument she picked up, the flute, saxophone, or banging on her dad’s drums, she could make them sing.
Shaye graduated from Sherwood High School in 2014 and later married her high school sweetheart. They moved to Corvallis for him to attend college. After her divorce, she moved to the family farm in McMinnville. During this time, she found her professional family at Forest River in Dallas. She worked at Forest River until she met her soulmate and eventually moved to Eagle Creek to be with him.
She didn’t have near enough time to do everything she wanted to do. She always wanted to be a momma, even as a little girl, that was her dream. She will be missed by many, especially her best friends Jessica Wolf and Joe Yruegas. Her life was too short.
Please honor Shaye’s passing by spending time with your children, no matter the age, sending a quick note to let them know you are thinking of them, giving them a hug, reading books together, or Shaye’s favorite, adventuring.
She is survived by her proud parents, Dennis and Lori Robertson, brothers Joshua and Casey, sister-in-law Hailey, and her grandmother, Marilyn Rome.
She was pre-deceased by her grandparents Vennis Leroy Robertson, Ella June Robertson, and Sanford (Sandy) Rome, and uncle, Douglas Lee Robertson.
Shaye loved animals, especially her cat, Lyla. Donations can be made in her name at Homeward Bound Pets. Mail: PO Box 8, McMinnville, OR 97128 or online at https://hbpets.org/.
