Our brother Roger had an understanding and acceptance of life that was inspiring and pure. He was able to share this with his friends and family throughout his life and give inspiration to those open to it.
Roger lived in adult foster homes within Eugene and Springfield since 1996. With amazing help from his care providers, he was able to live his goal of an independent life for many years. His foster homes were indeed like family to him.
He loved the WWO, NWO, Ducks, Beavers, the NFL and NBA. He was immensely savvy regarding the Draft NFL and seeing college players turn pro. Roger also loved the Lane County fair, roller coasters and had been to Disney and Busch Gardens to ride the scary rides. He enjoyed going to the movies and going out to eat with the guys. Roger loved country music and singing to an audience or playing emcee to wrestling matches. His birthday was always an opportunity to have a party with his friends and family.
He took tremendous pride in his collection of hot wheels, football cards, action figures and caps, and he was generous in sharing these with his housemates.
Roger loved the warmth of Eugene citizens who often said, "Hi!" or gave him encouragement when he was out and about!
He is survived by two sisters, two brothers, several nieces, nephews, cousins and an Aunt.
His family and buddies miss him terribly. His message ‘Always I love you’ is his legacy.
Donations in his name can be made to the ARC of Lane County.
