Peter started his post high school education at Bend Community College and finished his Bachelor of Arts degree at Portland State University. With his gift of gab and warm and confident personality, he entered the sales field of work with ADP Payroll Processing. In a short time, he moved into medical cardiac product sales with Vascular Solutions, Teleflex, and Biotronic. He was very proud of meeting every quarterly sales quota and receiving the quarterly and annual pay bonuses.
Peter was a determined and passionate person in his life endeavors. He was an avid fisherman, hunter, home landscaper and gardener. From the age of five, he adored fishing and progressed from bluegills, sunfish, and carp; then bass, walleyes, northern pike and in Oregon salmon, halibut, tuna, ling cod, and sturgeon. He also hunted deer, elk, chukar partridge, and pheasants with his favorite German short hair weimar companions Chip and Chase.
Peter loved and loyally nourished his Minnesota and Oregon families and friends. He had many relationships in his work and social life, and was always a favorite to everyone with whom he connected.
Peter loved us and we loved him. He was tender and respectful of his wife and children and was attentive to taking care of and protecting them. He is survived by his wife Lesley Judson-Nelson, two children Reese and Luke, his mother and father Joseph and Joan Nelson, his father in law and mother in law Ron and Kathy Judson, his sister and brother in law Michelle and Eric LeBow, nephew Tucker LeBow, and niece Alyssa LeBow.
On Saturday, April 15, 2023 in the afternoon, there will be a Celebration of Life memorial for family and friends at Rudy’s Steakhouse in downtown Salem.
