Patricia Francis Mahoney Cunningham lived a life full of books, love, libraries, and family before passing August 28, 2022. Born June 7, 1952 in New York City, she was the third of six children born to the late Frank and Virginia Mahoney, and is survived by siblings, James, Ginny, Loretta, John, and Peter. In 1974, she married the late Alan Cunningham, and she is survived by their three children, Bethany, Joshua, and Matayla, and two grandchildren, Octavia and Zane, along with assorted beloved grandpets, nieces, nephews, and in-laws.
A hard worker with a heart of gold, she worked many jobs, but she loved her years of library work most of all. She also was a tireless test administrator for Pearson for over a decade. She always put her family first and was a natural caretaker. Blessed are those she shared books with. A lover of mysteries, music, women's history, gilded age New York City, her various collections, art, and British fiction, she lived a deep inner life spread over multiple states, from coast to coast. She will be dearly missed. Memorial contributions can be made in her honor to Friends of Salem Public library: https://www.salemfriends.org/
A visitation for Patricia will be held Saturday, September 3, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Virgil T. Golden Funeral Service, 605 Commercial St. SE, Salem, Oregon 97301, followed by a memorial service at 11:00 AM.
