Mary Louise Wills Weber passed away on Saturday, February 29, 2020 in Salem, Oregon. She was born on March 12, 1931, in Green River, Wyoming to Earl Wills and Zelma Wills. Mary wed Edward Weber on December 25, 1949, and they celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on Christmas Day, 2019.
Mary attended grade school in Green River, Wyoming before moving to Oregon where she attended Stanfield High School and graduated from Echo High School. She was a member of her high school marching color guard.
During her working years, Mary worked mainly in retail. She started at Western Auto in Hermiston, Oregon. She held several positions with Fred Meyer in Corvallis, Roseburg, and retired from the Fred Meyer in Salem, Oregon. Mary also worked for Harry and David in Ashland, Oregon. In addition to her regular job, Mary also was an Avon Sales Representative.
Mary was active in Campfire/Blue Birds, Hermiston PTA, Teton County Montana Home Demonstration Club, Square Dance Clubs, and The Daughters of the American Revolution. She was an avid reader, loved knitting and crocheting, and making dresses. Mary enjoyed going to the Oregon coast, fishing with family, rock hunting and beachcombing. Since she loved the outdoors, cutting down the family Christmas tree in the National Forest was a special event with the entire family.
Mary is survived by her husband of 70 years, Edward Weber, daughter Edith Cano (Bob) from Vancouver, Washington, son Leslie Weber (Deena) from Meridian, Idaho, grandchildren Shelly Cano Kurtz (Nate), Nathan Cano, Matthew Weber, and Shyla Paradis (John), and 10 greatgrandchildren., brothers, Bob Wills and Jim Wills,and her sister Doris Jean. She was predeceased by her parents, Earl Wills and Zelma Wills, and daughter Myrna Weber.
Mary had a great sense of humor and truly a people person. She loved her family dearly and the holidays were a special time when she could spend the time with them. Mary will be missed by all that knew her.
A Celebration of Mary’s Life will be held on Monday, March 9, 2020 at 1:00 pm at Belcrest Memorial Park Chapel. Arrangements by Howell Edwards Doerksen with Rigdon-Ransom Funeral Directors.
