Terry passed away peacefully in the presence of her family on December 3rd, 2024. She is forever remembered by her loving husband and best friend of over 61 years, Edward Muth, as well as her treasured son Jason (wife Michelle, children Jackson, Brady and Olivia) and her cherished daughter, Megan (husband Kevin, children Kheller, Luke and Travis). She is lovingly missed by her adored brothers John Baird (wife Jan, children John and Katie) and Philip "Butch" Baird (wife Suzette, daughter Meagan). Terry will also be remembered for her kindness and caring spirit by the countless friends she connected with throughout her life.
Terry was born March 18, 1946 in Eugene, Oregon to her parents Philip and Mary Kay Baird. She graduated from South Eugene High School in 1964 and graduated with her bachelor's degree in education from the University of Oregon in 1968. As an elementary school teacher, she brought creativity and joy to her classroom. She won the hearts and minds of her students, who years later would praise "Mrs. Muth" as their favorite teacher.
Terry and Ed loved going through life together. Golfing, going to movies, visiting Chihuly glass installations around the country, or even just a long drive on a Sunday to track down the best hamburger in Oregon, it was better because they enjoyed it together. They visited each of the 50 states and explored most of Europe, both in the years they lived in Germany and several return adventures since. By far, her favorite special place was the secret Muth family campsite at Big Lake. Many summer trips were made there to enjoy family time boating, reading and playing round after round of her favorite dice game, Zonk.
Throughout her life, Terry was an avid sports fan. She loved watching Ducks football at Autzen Stadium or traveling with Ed to watch them play across the country. There was not a sporting event of her children or grandchildren that she didn't love to attend-- cheering (loudly!) from the sidelines and giving big hugs after games made her the family's #1 fan.
Terry's main passion in life was her family. Her creative mind constantly found ways to create lasting memories and traditions. Her unconditional love and dedication to her family is her legacy that lives on through her husband, children, grandchildren and all those lucky enough to know her. Her generosity in both her time and attention made her a special friend to so many.
A Celebration of Life will be held January 3, 2024 at 2pm at Creekside Golf Course. In lieu of flowers, Terry's family would like friends to consider a donation to the American Brain Foundation https://www.americanbrainfoundation.org/
