The daughter of wheat ranchers, Marcia moved to Rockaway Beach at age 19, and helped operate a United Methodist youth camp, Camp Magruder, for many years. She participated in the local church, sold Avon products and was known for being a great cook and gardener, who also loved bird watching. In 1971, Marcia relocated to Bend, Oregon where she sold real estate and managed Turn of the Century Lampshades and Antiques downtown and participated in the community gardens and PSI World Seminars. After the death of her second husband Bob Jones in 1994, Marcia moved to Dufur Oregon to care for her mother, and there re-met a high school classmate Harold Robinson whom she married.
Her grandson remembers her "sweet childlike glow" and the fun they had together. Marcia loved her family and is remembered as the Queen of Fudge at the holidays and cheesecake the rest of the year!
After the death of Harold in 2002, Marcia relocated to Sheridan Oregon to live next to daughter Nancy and her family and spent winters in Hawaii with daughter Joyce; and eventually to Salem when her Alzheimers disease became progressed. She lived her last 6 years at Harmony House of Salem near son Steve and his wife Elaine, where she received excellent care. Marcia had a special love for music including hymns, harp music and songs from The Sound of Music. Family visits typically included singing and chocolate!
Marcia is deeply missed by her family.
