Lloyd Wayne Cooper was born March 3, 1931 in Deerfield, Missouri to James and Sarah Cooper. After graduating from Hood River High School in 1950 he joined the Army and served during the Korean War. Upon completing his time in the service he found employment with AT&T where he worked for 35 years. He married the love of his life, Janet Louise Bolt, on June 9, 1956.
Lloyd filled his free time volunteering, refereeing basketball games, crossword puzzles, landscaping, bird watching, working on cars and gardening. He also loved the outdoors where he pursued his passions of camping, fishing and hunting. Lloyd is described by his family as “not much of a dreamer, he was too practical for that.”
Lloyd is preceded in death by is wife, Janet; daughter, Kay Lynn Cooper; and grandson, Stephen Danley. He is survived by daughters, Cheryl Danley of Boise, Idaho and Karen Nguyen of Salem; and 4 grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held Friday, January 28, 2011 at 11:00 am at Belcrest Memorial Park. Arrangements by Howell-Edwards-Doerksen with Rigdon-Ransom Funeral Directors.
