Lawrence Jon Carroll, 81, of Salem, Oregon, passed away peacefully on March 1, 2024. He was born on October 28, 1942, in Seattle, Washington, and grew up in Eugene, Oregon. Lawrence graduated from Oregon State University with an engineering degree.
In 1969, Lawrence, known to friends as Larry, and his wife Linda founded Cascade Sound and Lighting, a family-operated full-service production company serving Oregon and Southwestern Washington. Larry was a dedicated businessman who took pride in his work and the relationships he built with his clients.
Larry was a longtime parishioner of St. Mary's Parish-Shaw in Aumsville, Oregon, and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was also a former musician who enjoyed collecting vinyl records, CDs, live concert recordings, and musical instruments. Larry was known for his love of Hawaiian shirts and his penchant for "Dad" jokes, bringing smiles and laughter to those around him.
Larry was married to Linda for 55 years and is survived by her, his three children James, Jeffrey, and Julie, and his brother David of Palmer, Alaska, seven grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Mary, and brother, James Kevin.
A private graveside service will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church-Shaw in Aumsville, OR at 3 pm on Tuesday, April 9th with a public reception at the parish hall to follow at 4 pm. Instead of flowers, donations can be made to the Father Taaffe Homes and Pregnancy Support via Catholic Community Services.
