Laurence J. Herberger

Laurence John Herberger (also known as Bud), was born November 20, 1928 in Salem, Oregon to Jack and Ethel Herberger. He graduated from Sacred Heart Academy in 1948, joined the US Marines Corp Reserves, he served in the Korean War from 1950 to 1952. In 1954, he married the love of his life, Patricia Weathers. They were married for 63 years and had 5 children. Bud worked for the State of Oregon in the IT Department, retiring after 32 years of service. Bud was honest, hard-working and had a strong love for his family. After retirement, Bud & Pat enjoyed traveling in their RV. He also enjoyed golfing, gardening and spending time working in his Hazelnut Orchard. Bud was an active member of St. Edward’s Catholic Church for many years. Survivors include children and their spouses: Dan & Tanya Herberger, Sue & Steve Jackson, Julie & Darwin Schott, DwynAnn & Jim Colgan and Mike & Kristin Herberger, 16 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren and his sister Dwyn Anne Hemann. Rosary begins at 9:30 am followed by a Mass at 10:00 am on Friday, October 28 at St. Edward’s Catholic Church in Keizer with a reception following.
