Kathleen was a riveter, working for North American Aviation during her years at Inglewood High School and continued at other aircraft plants, after graduation in 1943, until the war was over. Kathleen married Walter Quiring, the love of her life, on April 19, 1944 in Inglewood California.
Kathleen was a long time resident of Salem, moving here in 1967. She was a member of West Salem Baptist Church and her favorite pastime was making clothes for her grandchildren and doing embroidery. She has entered her embroidery work in the state fair, including this year, since about 1975, wining numerous blue ribbons. In 2007 she moved to Gresham, to be closer to her daughter, Sherry.
Kathleen was preceded in death by her loving husband, Walter Quiring who passed in 1999; brother, Wesley Noble; sister, Doris Overstreet; grandsons, W. Frank Bentley in 1993 and Ethan Jon Bentley in 2003; and son-in-law, Larry Bentley in 2009.
Kathleen is survived by her brother, James Jr. of Park City, Utah; daughter, Sherry Bentley of Gresham; sons, Perry Quiring of Salem, and George Quiring of Keizer. She was also blessed with two granddaughters, two great-granddaughters and one great-grandson.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 13 from 2-5pm at Howell-Edwards-Doerksen with Rigdon-Ransom Funeral Directors.
