The faithful and true Joe Donhaue, 44, passed away in late June after relentlessly wrestling with metastatic cancer. His story began in Monterey/Salinas, California where he graduated from Salinas High School; he graduated college with two Bachelor of Science degrees—one in Psychology and the other in Biology Systems Physiology. He was married to Chara in San Jose, CA. They had their first child in Ohio and settled in the beautiful Salem, Oregon where their family was blessed with three more children.
Joe served wholeheartedly in the local church as a biblical counselor and leader, preached often at the Union Gospel Mission, and worked for Oregon State Government for over a decade as an analyst and manager. He was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha and Alpha Phi Omega, an avid game player, and held a black belt in the martial art of jiu-jitsu. He helped build an orphanage in Togo, Africa, ministered to people in India, and devotedly cared for both friends and strangers that God placed in his path. His family was loved wholly and purely by him, and his wife of eighteen years, four children, parents, and beloved extended family members are all reeling from this loss; for Joe, his faith has become sight, and many of them are comforted by this truth.
