John Steve Petty Jr. was born in Riverside California on May 12, 1944. He was raised in Riverside California, after attending Ramona High School Steve volunteered to enlist in the U.S. Army and received a honorable discharge. Shortly after his return to the States Steve married Irene (Swaim) Petty during most of his married life he worked as a roofer. In 1980, the family moved to Willamina Oregon where they made their home and was a state of Oregon employee at the time of his death.
Steven is survived by this wife Willie Sara Irene and 2 children Yvonne Petty and Blanche (husband Bob) Farrar; 4 grandchildren Tomara, Blaine (wife Amanda), Jade and Dalton; 3 great-grandchildren. His siblings Ray Petty and Bonnie (husband Don) Vandehey; a host nieces and nephews. Steve is preceded in death by his parents John & Blanche Petty, sister-in-law Patsy, Granddaughter Hollie, son-in-law Mark and nephew Rick.
