She grew up in Polson Montana, married Gilbert Day in Billings where son Glenn was born, then moved to Portland, Oregon where son Jim was born. After their divorce, she worked as a welder on aircraft carriers in the Portland Shipyards where she met Roland Hillman & they married June 30th, 1944, celebrating 57 loving years together. Son Fred & daughters Margaret & Doris were added to the family. She retired from the Oregon State Hospital after 28 years of employment in Food Services. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, babysitting grandchildren, gardening & reading.
She was preceeded in death by her parents, husband Roland, sisters Bertie Corrigan & Bonnie Clark of Montana, Jack in Viet Nam & daughter Margaret Weddle. Survivors include sisters Norma (Orval) Fochtman of Weiser, Idaho, Shirley (Rod) Fox of Kalispell, Montana, brother Bob (Vicki) Anderson of Payette, Idaho, sons Glenn (Marie) Day of Portland, Jim (Arleta) Day & Fred (Dianne) Hillman of Salem & daughter Doris (Dan) Mallett of Tonopah, Arizona; 15 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren & 5 great-great-grandchildren as well as nieces and nephews.
