Gary was born to Richard and Juanita Zander at Salem Memorial Hospital on October 26, 1962. He attended Four Corners Elementary, Parrish Junior High, and graduated from South Salem High School in 1980. After graduating from Phagans’ School of Beauty, he worked at the Attitudes Salon in Salem for over 20 years.
Gary was a loving husband, brother, and a caring friend. He was artistic, kind, generous, and had a fun sense of humor. He loved music, karaoke, spending time with his dogs, and camping with his friends. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.
Gary was preceded in death by long-time friend and husband, David Fletcher, his parents, and his brother, Russell Zander. Gary is survived by his brother, Steve Zander, and sisters Debbie (and Dave) Marsland, Sami Zander, and six nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life for family and friends will be held at a later date.
