We lived next door to Ed and Mary at Pacific  City on  the Nestucca River for over 20 years.  My late husband Jim, and Ed became  best of friends spending hours together fishing for salmon,  and sharing fishing stories on the deck and perhaps a beer.    Ed and Mary became part of our family and  times there with them were so very special with lots of laughter and tears.  There was always a side of Ed that would appear unexpectedly, like beating the socks off a ping pong opponent in our basement with total awe by the grand kids that Ed was a pro!  Also being able to quote lines from old movies .. he knew them all!   He was loved and the memories will always be close.
